CHRIS’S CHARACTERS

• PIRATE-BUCCANEER BOB

These characters are Chris’s most popular for children’s parties. The birthday person’s age or party theme may have some bearing on which character you choose.

On arrival Chris will greet the birthday person with a cheery Happy Birthday and then set about sitting the children down to watch the show.  It takes him about 2 minutes to set up his gear and is fully self contained. The shows are presented in the true Ship-O’-Fools tradition.

All his shows include 3, 4, & 5 ball juggling, club & cricket bat juggling, plenty of magic tricks, music, a game and for the finale, club and cricket bat juggling on a 6’ foot unicycle!  Throughout the show the children and adults are kept very amused with Chris’s quick wit and very funny patter. Chris is excellent at improvisation.  As you can imagine, anything can happen at a children’s party and Chris is well equipped to handle any situation that may arise!  The actual performance is about 35 minutes long and is chock-a-block full of what we call “WOW” factor!

Following the show, he will make all the children a balloon sculpture of their choice.  He can make an array of sculptures including, puppy dogs, mice, birds, swords and flowers to name just a few. Or he can paint the children’s faces instead if you like.

MY CHARACTERS

BUBBLES is my favourite and best-loved clown character.  She is four and a half years old and a bit cheeky.  Following tradition, on arrival, Bubbles greets the birthday person and then sets up for the show.  Bubbles is also fully self contained.  It just takes a few minutes to prepare for the show and sit the children down. Her show includes a ‘lucky dip’ of tricks that she can perform.  She will choose some children form the audience to take a turn to ‘dip’ her my pocket for a card and then announce exactly what her juggling, magic or musical (she plays saxophone) feat will be! There are plenty of chances for the children to participate by helping her perform the magic tricks and taking part in the famous Ship-O’-Fools game!   Bubbles also has an itty- bitty bike to ride. This show is about 20-25 minutes long. And speaking of long – yes, her long plaits are real!

Following on from the show, the children can choose a balloon sculpture each and have their faces painted.  Whilst I am doing this, I will turn on my  ‘bubble making’ machine creating streams of bubbles to keep the children laughing and playing.

FAIRYWINKLE Is every child’s dream come true! She has very long wavy waist length hair, beautiful blue mauve velvet and crystal organza dress with 8 colourful petticoats.  She is adorned with a halo of flowers, petals and flower trails. She has glittering fairy make-up and purple glittering shoes…and gossamer wings, of course!  Fairywinkle is very enchanting and can make magic happen.  She has an array of magic tricks, which call for some help form the little fairies in the audience.  She has a magical fairy ring that can only be entered after chanting some special words. She will also read a fairy story or two and gild the children with fairy dust. Fairywinkle will transform the children’s faces with paint and then give them a sweet heart-shaped balloon or a sculpture of their choice.  These include a flower, puppy, mouse, bird and the like. During this time the children will continue to be captivated with cascades of bubbles from her ‘bubble machine’.

WILLY DOODROP, CYRIL THE CLOWN AND BUCCANEER BOB CAN ALL BE MATCHED WITH BUBBLES THE CLOWN FOR A DUO SHOW.
